Pinac : Heirloom Capampangan Cuisine at UP Town Center

Whenever we are in Balara and Katipunan Area, Val and I usually dine at UP Town Center. There are actually a lot of restaurant choices in the area with different specialties.

Pinac is known to serve Capampagan dishes. What we liked about the place is that it has a homey atmosphere where one can truly enjoy family heirloom recipes.

The tables are quite close to each other but it was late in afternoon so, it was not crowded.

Let me share the dishes that we ordered.

Pork Barbeque, Garlic Rice and Side Dish

Chicken Pastel

Calamares
Ofcourse, there is always room for dessert.
Dulce de Leche Cheesecake
Among all the dishes we tried, Dulce De Leche Cheesecake is a must try.

The price is quite reasonable. We only paid Php 1,176.43 inclusive of rice, drinks and service fee. I just hope that they can provide free WIFI because the mall's internet service was slow.

Gluta White and Firm Shares Joy and Love This Love Month

Before we end the love month, I just want to share to heartwarming video about the elderly. Let this be a reminder to all of us that we may become too busy growing up that we forget that our parents and grandparents are also growing old.

This video features the elderly from Kanlungan ni Maria in Antipolo. We are all invited to donate (in cash or kind) or visit the center and bring joy all the Lolos and Lolas even for a day.

For more details, you may reach Kanlungan ni Maria through their website

Thank you, Gluta White and Firm for sharing this video.

Dinner Buffet at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel

Buffet restaurants are very popular nowadays. With the decent price and a very wide spread, it is a smart choice for big eaters. It is so popular that reservations are a must and walk-ins would have to go through a very long wait to be seated.

The only thing that concerns me is that the popular buffet restaurants are very crowded. The tables are placed too close to each other in order to maximize the space. There are times that it becomes really noisy wherein conversations become challenging.

Good thing we discovered Eastwood Cafe at the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel. It is strategically located right in the heart of Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City. Just beside the Eastwood Mall (they share the same parking lot) They have an amazing spread of Asian cuisine (Japanese, Chinese, Mediterranean, Thai.) The place is cozy and the ambiance is perfect.

Let me share some of the dishes we had.

For appetizers:
Pork Kinilaw

Shrimp and Apple Salad

Cheesesticks

Tofu - ???

Spicy Thai Chicken

Main dishes:

Beef Pares

Pork in Yellow Curry

Seafood in Cilantro and Tomato

They also have their grill station. Choices include premium cuts of beef, pork, fish and squid.
Grill Station

It would not be complete without the usual, Japanese station with assorted maki. They also serve shrimp tempura.

Assorted Maki

I love their dessert station, one of the best I have every tried. They have lots of selections too. Here are just a few.

Brazo de Mercedes

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

They have chocolate fondue with different dips, fresh seasonal fruits, rum balls, blueberry panna cotta, assorted cakes, eclairs, cookies, etc.

They also serve lemon ice tea (which was really good), brewed coffee and fruit infused water for free.

Drinks Station
You can also order wine which is available per drink or bottle. This is a perfect pair to their assorted cheese and nuts selection, which is part of the buffet.

Our overall experience is wonderful and we highly recommend this place if you want to avoid the crowd and have good food. About the price, its approximately Php 2,100 for 2 inclusive of taxes and surcharges.

Eastwood Cafe is located at 17 Orchard Rd, Eastwood City, Quezon City. You may check their website for more details. you

Experience the Extreme Press Conference and Tour

Say goodbye to the cold weather and hello summer!

A few weeks from now, the summer season will official start. It is the season to have fun, go out of your house and take a break. If you do not have any plans yet, then check out Tree Top Adventure.

Tree Top Adventure offers four unique outdoor activities divided into slow and fast paced activities. One slow paced activity is the Canopy and Funicular which is similar to the concept of a cable car, but, you’ll be seated on cable chairs in which you’ll be transferring from one station to another until you complete all eight stations.  If you prefer to just walk around the area and fill your eyes with spectacular view, you could avail the Trekking and Skywalk.

Want something more extreme?
Then you should try the fast paced activities such as the Tree Drop, Silver Surfer and Superman.  Tree Drop is the most extreme activity that Tree Top offers in which you’ll be suspended 60 feet above the ground, mission impossible style, and you’ll be falling as fast as two to three seconds. Superman, as the name implies, is a horizontal motorized zipline in which you’ll be flying back and forth, Superman style. Silver Surfer is a diagonal zipline in which you’ll be standing on a specialized platform and you’ll be gliding up and down for three cycles.

Isn't that exciting? If you would like to know more about it, there would be a press conference on March 14, 2015 from 11:00AM - 4:00PM at the Tree Top Adventure Baguio at Camp John Hay.
