How to Sell and Declutter via Shopee

Everyone loves Shopee. I mean with the rise of online shopping. I guess every household has been familiar with the platform to order essentials, clothes, household items, toys, and whatnots.

But did you know you can also be a Shopee seller?
Yes, anyone who has a Shopee account can also sell through the platform.

If you are someone who wants to declutter and sell your personal items
If you are an author who just launched your book
If you are a crafter who wants to sell her creations
If you are an individual who wants to make a living through buy and sell

Then, you might consider selling via Shopee.

Please note that there are some items that are restricted or prohibited in the platform such as:

Preloved Baby Products (eg. Feeding bottles, breast pump, pacifier, teether, diaper cloth)

Preloved undergarments, cosmetic products & contact lens

Listings with Medical Claims or Philippine FDA warned items.

Well, this totally makes sense due to sanitation and health reasons. Anyway, you can check the full list of Shopee prohibited and restricted items here.

How does this work?

1. If you already have a Shopee account, all you need to do is login to Seller Centre via seller.shopee.ph and select Shop Settings to complete your shop profile.

IMPORTANT: Before adding your products, make sure that you have a verified mobile number added to your account. If you haven't, just go to MY ACCOUNT, add your mobile number and click on Send Verification Code. You will receive a six-digit verification code on the mobile number provided.

2. Set up your Pick-up address

One of the things I love about Shopee is that I don't have to worry about dropping them off or going to the courier to have the parcels shipped. Instead, Shopee will assign a courier to you and you can simply have it picked up from your home/ office.

So, when someone orders from you. All you need to do is just set a pick-up schedule and have the item ready by packing it properly. Most of the time, the courier will be the one to provide the printed waybill and the plastic pouch.

To set your pick-up address, on your seller dashboard, under settings, click My Addresses

3. Now, it's time to upload your products and create a listing!

On your seller dashboard, go to My products, add a new product and fill out the necessary details such as product name, category, product attributes, and description. You also need to provide a product photo. Important: You have to make sure to provide the correct shipping settings such as weight, parcel size because the shipping fee will be based on the information that you will provide.

Any discrepancies (like the shipping fee paid by the buyer is lower than the actual shipping charges) will be charged against you and deducted from your earnings.

4. Shopee Charges

When pricing your products, you have to consider that Shopee charges a small fee every time you sell through the platform.

The Seller Transaction Fee is a handling fee that covers the cost of the payment transactions. Starting August 1, for every successful transaction using Shopee’s payment services, Shopee charges 2% (+VAT) of the buyer’s total amount.

For Local Marketplace Sellers (which is like us), a 1% commission fee will be charged on all transactions for Marketplace sellers as well.

To give you an example, I sold a Php 150 book and I only got Php 144 as net proceeds.

5. How to ship my orders?

  • On your seller dashboard under My Sales and click on To Ship
  • View orders that need to be shipped out in the To Ship tab
  • Click on Ship to arrange for shipment (Make sure you arrange for the shipment before the stated ship-by date)
  • Pack your order properly. Put inside the box or use bubble wrap.
  • On your pick-up date, hand the order over to the logistics provider

6. Payments

After sending out the parcel, all you need to do is wait for the items to be delivered. Once the buyer confirms receipt (like what we usually do as buyers) then the money will be released to your seller wallet.

Once it's credited to your seller wallet, you can withdraw it directly to your bank account or you can use it to fund your Shopeepay wallet.

More details on how to withdraw your funds, here.

The Kissing Booth 3 Release Date, Trailer and Sneak Peek

Kissing Booth is probably one of my favorite Netflix original movies. I remember that I was really excited when they announced last year that they'll be having a second sequel to the movie and ended up watching it during its premiere. And now -- guess what? We have the third installment coming really soon.

Now, we can stop wondering and find out what happens next to Elle and Noah. So, save the date as Kissing Booth 3 is coming to Netflix on August 11 (Wednesday)

You can watch the trailer here

It’s the summer before Elle heads to college, and she’s facing the hardest decision of her life: whether to move across the country with her dreamy boyfriend Noah or fulfill her lifelong promise to go to college with her BFF Lee. Whose heart will Elle break?

By the way, I'd like to share some photos with you and a little sneak peek. (Don't worry! No spoilers here!)

This one definitely has twilight saga feels. Does Edward Cullen have a new brother?

That's it for now!

Are you excited too? Let us know what you think about the upcoming movie.

Hypertension: The Bigger Risk that You Should Be Also Concerned About

The coronavirus has altered our way of life and it continues to affect many of us. As the numbers continue to increase and the statistics now include family and friends who have been sick or lost, we can't help but be worried and afraid of what might happen next.

However, during the Press Conference by the Philippine Heart Association Council on Hypertension last June 16, I realized that aside from the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a bigger risk than we should also be concerned about.

"At the moment, we have at least two pandemics, we have the coronavirus and the other one is increasing prevalence rate of blood pressure in the Philippines and we all agree that both need to be contained," says Dr. Don Robespierre C. Reyes, Head of the ER Services UST Hospital, Head, PHA Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Core Group, and the Editor-in-chief of My Heart Ph

If we don't do anything, it is estimated that by 2025, we will have more than 1.5 billion people suffering from hypertension globally and that more than 1.5 billion will be at risk to die because of cardiovascular diseases.

Thus, it is very important for us to learn more about this and understand our situation. Fortunately, we have organizations like the Philippine Heart Association who continuously look after us and champions the advocacy to fight this dreaded disease.

After 8 years through the help of the Corbridge Group, we now have updated data and a clearer picture of the current health situation in the country concerning hypertension. The results of this study conducted by the lead investigator, Dr. Jorge A. Sison, Consultant in the Adult Cardiology at the Makati Medical Center and the Past Head of the Cardiology Section, Medical Center Manila can definitely help us move forward, and hopefully, it can also help guide the government in creating a national policy on this matter.

Here are 7 things you need to know about our current situation:

  • Hypertension Prevalence Rate in the Philippines is at 37%
  • For Western Visayas which includes Bacolod City, from being the lowest in 2013, the prevalence rate has gone up from 13% to 43% in 2021, making us currently number 3 in the country. (Is this because of cansi? LOL)
  • 18% of the total population are unaware that they are hypertensive.
  • More younger people now are suffering from hypertension where the hypertension prevalence rate among adolescents (12-18 years old) jumped from 1% to 5%.
  • 67% are taking medication for hypertension but BP control rate is low at 36%
  • Only 25% of hypertensive monitor BP at home, digital BP monitor, the brachial type being the most common.
  • Adult hypertensives have higher BMI, waist circumference, and central obesity rate.

As you can see the results are not really good thus, it is really important that we do something about it. Here are 7 Simple Tips on How We Can Beat this Bigger Pandemic

1. HAVE THE RIGHT DIET - Include at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily. Mix and match your food and opt for more colorful vegetables. It is also important that we do not overcook our vegetables.

2. LIMIT GADGET OR ELECTRONIC DEVICE USE - Minimize your use of gadgets or electronic devices to a maximum of 2 hours daily.

3. EXERCICE - Stay fit and exercise. Allot at least 1 hour per day for your fitness routine.

4. AVOID SWEETENED BEVERAGES AND SODA - Say no to beverages and soda. Water is still the liquid for our body.

5. STOP SMOKING - Smoking kills and so does second-hand smoke. If you can't help it, please be mindful not to pass your secondhand smoke to others.

6. MONITOR YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE - It is important to monitor your blood pressure regularly and that includes your children. According to Dr. Aurelia Leus, BP measurement in children is recommended to be done annually starting at 3 years of age.

7. SEEK YOUR PROFESSIONAL HELP - When in doubt, seek professional help. Ask your doctor. They are the best persons to ask whenever we have health concerns. Do not self-medicate.

We are at war with these two pandemics but we do not need to lose hope. We can win this fight! We have our trusted doctors and the Philippine Heart Association. All we need to do is listen and do our part. :)
