How to get a copy of your NSO Birth Certificate and NSO Marriage Contract?

Val and I will be renewing our passports next month and as a requirement, we need to submit a NSO copy of our birth certificate since we still do not have e-passports. Also, since I will be updating my name to my married name, I also would need to submit a NSO copy of our marriage contract.

For those who will be getting their NSO documents here in Bacolod, please take note that they have moved from the back of the Capitol/ Plaza. The new National Statistics Office (NSO) here in Bacolod is located at the back of Mcdonalds East near Eastwest Bank.

The process of securing the documents is very fast and easy.

1. First, fill out the request forms. Request forms for birth certificates are colored white while forms for marriage contracts is pink.

Some of the information that you need are the following:

A. Birth Certificate

1. Name
2. Date of Birth
3. Place of Birth
4. Father's Name (including middle initial)
5. Mother's Maiden Name
6. Is it late registration?
7. Purpose of Request

B. Marriage Contract

1. Name of Husband
2. Name of Wife
3. Date of Marriage
4. Place of Marriage
5. Purpose of Request

2. Make a payment. Fee for NSO copy of birth certificate and marriage contract is Php 140 each.

3. After payment, wait for your name to be called at the releasing section. Based on our experience, it only took us 20 minutes before we got our documents.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Make sure that you have a government issued ID to be presented upon claiming.

Tips:
1. Come in early as they are giving out numbers.
2. In the afternoon, they can still accommodate clients even if they don't have numbers provided that there are only few people waiting to be served. On most cases, cut off time is at 4pm.
3. Don't forget to bring a valid ID. In cases that the request will be made through a representative, make sure to send an authorization letter and both your valid IDs.

In the commemoration of the 3rd anniversary of Typhoon Haiyan, Hack the Climate will stage its first ever Clean Technology Hackathon and Training happening in Palo, Leyte and Tacloban City. It is part of the 8th NICP ICT Summit 2016, in partnership with the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), DOST Region 8, Philippine Science High School – Eastern Visayas Campus, Seed4com, Move.ph, Millenia Suites, ThinkLab and Unionbank of the Philippines.

Hack the Climate is a climate change themed Hackathon that is formed out of the desire of a two Princeton University College Students, named Michael Lanchanski and Jacob Scheer to help the Philippines in their battle for climate change through Technology and Innovation.  With the help of their Filipino counterparts, Elaine Cedillo, Diego Jose Ramos and Rizzel Jill Dy, Hack the Climate was born in June 2013.

Hack the Climate in Leyte is our 5th since we started and we hope that we can bring this project across the country” said Elaine Cedillo, the lead project coordinator for this leg.

“Hack the Climate is more than just a hackathon, it is our advocacy. Educating the students and young professionals about the adverse effects of climate change while challenging the developers to create a solution for climate change adaptation or mitigation, and through that, the participants are empowered to do something to help our environment,” she added

THE CLEAN TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS AND THE HACKATHON
This year’s Hackathon is dubbed as “Hack the Climate Cleantech-Loban” and it will be a three-part event. They will be launching their first solar e-Learning facility for Alternative Learning System and a Solar Night Lamp assembly livelihood training program for the out-of-the school youth and partner NGO’s, plus a conference – hackathon about Climate Change Mitigation and CleanTech.

Philippine Toy Library located at Palo District 1, Barugo Leyte with more than 100 learners and at Pambujan, Samar with more than 90 learners will be the beneficiaries of an e-Learning set-up consisting of laptops from Huawei Philippines powered by solar panels which will be donated by Unionbank of the Philippines through their Go Beyond CSR.  The Solar Night Lamp that will be produced during the training will be donated to a fishing community in and around Tacloban.

The hackathon, a coding marathon, happening on November 9-10, 2016 at Philippine Science High School in Palo, Leyte, involves a specific theme where participants will be creating web or mobile applications, or hardware solutions. The conference happening simultaneously with the hackathon features speakers to educate and enlighten the audience to what is happening with our environment and how it affects each and every one of us, and different technologies which can be used to help in creating solutions.

Tips on How to Save Money

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are 100% mine.

With the rising prices of commodities, it is a must for every household to utilize money saving schemes. This may be employed in different ways such as decreasing consumption, switching to a cheaper brand or by looking for bargains and discounts.

Personally, I opt to save by looking for the best deals, bargains, and discounts. Also here are some tips at you can use to save money.

1. Shop ahead of time.

When I need to purchase something, I make sure that I shop ahead of time to give me ample opportunity to look around and compare prices. Whether we admit it or not, if we are in a rush to purchase something and have no choice, we just don't care how much it will cost.

Not to mention, we may even have to spend extra for expedited shipping.

2. Buy in bulk

Yes, purchasing bigger quantities gives us discounts and most of the time it comes out really cheaper. The only disadvantage is if we do not have enough funds for it.

3. Use coupons

This one is my favorite because of Groupon Coupons. With Groupon, you can get the best deals discounts and freebies. They have a lot of brands/ stores included in the list plus it is so easy to use. The system allows me to directly search what I am looking for or sort it by location.

Here are some of the current deals in Groupon Coupons
1. 50% off at Shoes for Crews
2. Clinique's Free 7-Piece Gift With Any $27 Order
3. 50% off Prints at Walgreens

In preparation for Lazada’s upcoming Online Revolution Sale kicking off on Nov. 11, Val and I were invited by the Lazada Affiliate Marketing team to attend the roadshow at the SMX Convention Center. Aside from Bacolod, the roadshow also covered other key cities such as Manila, Davao, Cebu, and Iloilo.

The attendees composed of the cities' top bloggers and influencers were given an introduction to Affiliate Marketing. We are very thankful for the opportunity to find out how we can earn while promoting Lazada.

I have been a customer of Lazada since 2013 and had been recommending them to family and friends. More details here: http://www.lazada.com.ph/lazada-affiliate-program/ .

With the Online Revolution fast approaching, we were also given the privilege of knowing in advance some of the deals which will be released on Nov. 11. Some of the deals which caught my attention were
