5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Read

Are you on a reading slump?

Do you lack the motivation to read your books?

Is your TBR list piling up?

If you answered yes, then you are not alone. At one point or another, many readers go through this phase where it's just hard to get inspired to read. You have no interest or you lack the energy to do so. Sometimes you simply just feel lazy. However do not fret because we're sharing with you the 5 Ways to Motivate Yourself to Read

Set Clear Goals: Establish specific reading goals, whether it's a certain number of pages or books per week, exploring a particular genre, or learning about a specific topic. Having a clear target gives you something to work towards and can keep you motivated to pick up a book.

Keep in mind that it doesn't have to be high. Small goals count too!

Create a Reading Routine: Incorporate reading into your daily or weekly schedule by setting aside dedicated time for it. Whether it's in the morning with your coffee, during your lunch break, or before bed, having a consistent reading routine helps make it a habit.

Find Enjoyable Material: Choose books that genuinely interest you and align with your passions or curiosity. When you're excited about the content, you'll naturally feel more motivated to read and explore further.

It doesn't have to be popular or trending. So, do away with booktoks if it is really not your genre. There is no point of forcing yourself to read something that you do not even enjoy.

Join a Reading Community: Participate in book clubs, online forums, or social media groups where you can discuss literature with others. Engaging with like-minded readers can provide encouragement, recommendations, and accountability, making the reading experience more enjoyable and motivating.

Feel free to join Book Philippines if you are looking for a book community. You are also welcome to suggest activities that you wish to find in the group.

Reward Yourself: Establish a reward system to celebrate your reading milestones. Treat yourself to something you enjoy after completing a book or reaching a specific reading goal. These rewards can serve as incentives to stay motivated and continue making progress with your reading habits.

Little rewards like a cup of coffee or chocolates is a good way to reward oneself. You can also buy a new book and continue growing your collection.
