People often ask me why I keep coming back to Disneyland. For a long time, I thought it was because I was searching for magic. But the truth is, part of my heart has always been there.
Some of my most beautiful memories with my Mama were made in Disneyland. Walking together down Main Street, laughing over the little things, taking photos we'll never recreate, and watching the fireworks with childlike wonder in our eyes. Those moments became treasures I didn't know I'd one day hold so tightly.
After I lost her, coming back felt different. The castle was still there. The music still played. The smiles, the laughter, the familiar feeling of wonder - it was all the same, except she wasn't beside me anymore. Still, I kept coming back.
Maybe because this was one of the few places where I could still feel close to her. Every corner carried a memory. Every firework felt like a conversation I wished I could still have with her.
Disneyland became more than a destination. It became a place where I could miss her and love her at the same time. A place where grief didn't feel so lonely because it was wrapped in beautiful memories. For years, I believed the magic I was searching for lived there.
Then Magic Shop by BTS found me.
Its message found me when I needed it most. It reminded me that the place we long for, when life becomes too heavy, isn't somewhere outside of us. It's a place we build within ourselves, a sanctuary where our fears are embraced, our tears are understood, and our hearts slowly learn how to believe again.
That's when I realized something.
Disneyland never gave me magic. It simply reminded me of the magic my mama had already planted in my heart. She taught me to believe in wonder, to find joy in little moments, and to love with my whole heart. Even though she isn't here to make new memories with me, every beautiful memory we created still lives inside me.
So maybe that's why I keep coming back. Not because I'm searching for magic anymore. But because this place reminds me that love never disappears. It simply changes the way it stays with us.
And now, this December, my heart is taking me somewhere new.
To a BTS concert.
Maybe that's not a coincidence.
Because the same heart that found comfort in Disneyland has found healing through seven artists whose music reminded me that it's okay to hurt, it's okay to miss someone, and it's okay to keep believing in tomorrow.
This time, I'm not going somewhere to find magic.
I'm going to celebrate the magic I've finally found within myself.
A little piece of my Mama.
A little piece of Disneyland.
A little piece of BTS (방탄소년단)
All of it has led me here.
And I think she'd smile knowing that I'm still choosing wonder.
