The Mooncake Festival occurs on the 15th day of the eight month of the Chinese lunar calendar when the moon is at its brightest. It is a perfect occasion for family reunions all over the world, which like the ubiquitous moon cakes that abound during the seasons, symbolizes family solidity and union. It is the time of year when children are happiest and traditional lit-lanterns shaped in various forms are visibly displayed.
